Altar is a solid ash table designed by Atelier Fassen as a structural composition of symbolic elements.
Conceived as a polyptych, the design references the secular panels of historic painted altarpieces. Two solid wood tops rest on a double vertical base, connected by a leather band that becomes both a structural and graphic element. Crafted from solid ash for the expressive character of its grain, each table is finished with traditional linseed oil and pigments, enhancing the unique natural patterns of the wood rather than concealing them.
