MATTER and SHAPE (hors les murs) — Birkenstock 1774

As MATTER and SHAPE extends beyond the Jardin des Tuileries, BIRKENSTOCK 1774 opens the doors of its private Paris studio to continue a dialogue initiated during the fair. What first appeared as a singular sculptural presence within the salon now unfolds in a new context, more intimate, more architectural, and open to deeper encounter.From 27 to 29 March 2026, the Studio becomes the setting for this next chapter, highlighting the work of artist Serban Ionescu alongside the brand’s own universe of form, material, and experimentation.

Positioned at the intersection of design, material research and artistic gesture, the installation explored form, balance and tactility, echoing the brand’s long-standing dialogue between anatomy, craft and contemporary culture.
Following its presentation in the Jardin des Tuileries, BIRKENSTOCK 1774 now extends the experience beyond the fair with a new installation through the unveiling of additional exclusive sculptures by Ionescu. 

We are pleased to invite you to discover the work in a more intimate setting at the BIRKENSTOCK 1774 Paris Studio.

Across these three days, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the installation up close, within the architectural context of the showroom, a space where the brand’s design philosophy unfolds through objects, materials and collaborations.

This presentation offers a quieter encounter with the work, allowing time to observe details, textures and spatial relationships.
