Alucast Chair by Bram Vanderbeke
DiscoverA sculptural aluminium casted chair. The molds of this piece is sculpted out of big foam blocks in combination with layers of wax, an intensive and physical process which is explicated by the scars on the surface. The objects are roughly polished what makes them both reflect as well as absorb light.
About the brand
The group presentation at Matter and Shape brings together collectible design in a setting that plays with the language of display, questioning how objects exist between commerce and curation. Heim + Viladrich, known for their refined spatial interventions—including the Dries Van Noten store in Los Angeles—craft environments that blur the boundaries between function and fiction, materiality and narrative. Their scenography at Matter and Shape offers a moment of reflection on the role of context in shaping perception. A preview of what’s to come at the Fashion Booth of COLLECTIBLE New York this September, during New York Fashion Week.
