JEREMY MAXWELL WINTREBERT
Marie Antoinette Chandelier
DiscoverJMW presents an interpretation of the chandelier — a historical and cultural object that embodies nobility in the collective unconscious. Here, it is removed from its traditional height, floating just above the ground, inviting visitors to step into its once-inaccessible space. Named Marie-Antoinette as a nod to the queen’s pearl necklace, JMW’s nationality (born in 1980, just steps from the Tuileries), and France’s monarchical and revolutionary History, the chandelier establishes a dialogue between past, future, and the aesthetic narratives that shape our perceptions.
