SARIDIS OF ATHENS
Saridis of Athens was established in 1867.
In 1960, T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings met Greek cabinetmakers Susan and Eleftherios Saridis, who were deeply interested in Greek archaeology and owned one of the finest cabinet-making plants in Europe. With the Saridis's, his own research, and the help of a few like-minded scholars, he designed furniture inspired by ancient Greek craters, mosaics, and frescoes. Together, they created the Klismos line of furniture.
With true respect for art and quality, Saridis of Athens continues to produce original furniture designs to this day. Every article of furniture from Saridis is handmade in a joinery by experienced craftsmen who work from original furniture designs, over which the company has exclusive reproduction rights.
