Aléa is an experimental design and material research studio based in Paris, co-founded by Miriam Josi and Stella Lee Prowse in 2021. Situated at the intersections of design, art, and biology, Aléa explores processes of growth and decay to develop new methods of fabrication that honor beauty in the process. Harnessing the potential of mycelium, the filamentous structure of fungi, Aléa imagines new ways of making with non-human life forms.
