JA Projects for MATTER and SHAPE 2026

We are pleased to announce that JA Projects, the London and New York based studio, will design the two pavilions of MATTER and SHAPE (2026), spanning 4000 sqm in the Jardin des Tuileries.

Founded by architect and artist Jayden Ali, with an ambition to shape buildings and cities that enrich and inspire the communities that live in them, JA Projects is a young, multidisciplinary studio operating at the meeting point of architecture, strategy, art and performance.

The studio’s recent and ongoing projects include the design of Entangled Pasts, 1768–now: Art, Colonialism and Change (2024) at the Royal Academy and the V&A’s 2022 exhibition Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear. They are also responsible for the new internal gallery spaces for the soon-to-open V&A East, as well as the exhibition design and co-curation of the British Pavilion at the 2023 Venice Biennale. Other notable work includes the Nike: Form Follows Motion exhibition at the Vitra Museum, the regeneration and revitalisation of East London’s iconic Queen’s Market, and collaboration on the redevelopment of major areas of London.

For MATTER and SHAPE (2026), they will realize a social and spatial project, relating to the cultural and geographic history of the Jardin des Tuileries. Their architectural concept will align with their belief that places should be diverse, sustainable, and enriching. It will include custom-designed exhibition booths as well as communal areas for programming, commerce, and leisure.
